Follow my training as I prepare for my first marathon, the Rock N’ Roll Denver Marathon! I will be following Hal Higdon’s 18 week novice plan.

In addition to writing about my workouts on the blog, I will also document them in my online workout log: The Daily Mile

Week of July 26-Aug 1

  • Mon: rest
  • Tues: 3 mile run, 20 min strength + stretch
  • Wed: 12 mile run
  • Thurs: 3 mile run + 20 min yoga
  • Fri: rest
  • Sat: 45 minutes yoga
  • Sun: 6 mile run

Week of July 20-25

  • Mon: rest
  • Tues: rest
  • Wed: 8 mile run
  • Thurs: 3 mile run + 20 min yoga
  • Fri: rest
  • Sat: 7 mile run
  • Sun: 1 hr x-training (either walking or yoga)

Week of July 12-19

  • Mon: 30 min yoga
  • Tues: 3 mile run + 20 min strength/stretch
  • Wed: 5 mile run
  • Thurs: 3 mile run + 20 min yoga
  • Fri: 10 mile run
  • Sat: rest
  • Sun: 1 hr walk

Week of July 5-July 11:

  • Mon: 3 mile run, 20 min strength
  • Tues: rest or walk (optional)
  • Wed: 4 mile run
  • Thurs: 3 mile run, 2o min yoga
  • Fri: rest
  • Sat: 9 mile run
  • Sun: 1 hr walk or yoga

Week of June 28-July 4:

  • Mon: rest
  • Tues: 3 mile run, 20 min yoga
  • Wed: 4 mile run
  • Thurs: 3 mile run, 20 min strength + stretch
  • Fri: rest
  • Sat: 5 mile run
  • Sun: 1 hr walk

Week of June 21-June 27:

  • Mon: rest
  • Tues: 3mile run, 20 min yoga
  • Wed: 3 mile run
  • Thurs: 3 mile run, 20 min strength and stretch
  • Fri: rest
  • Sat: 7 mile run
  • Sun: 1 hr cross training

Week of June 14-June 20:

  • Mon: rest
  • Tues: 3 mile run, 20 min strength + stretch
  • Wed: 3 mile run
  • Thurs: 3 mile run, 20 min strength + stretch
  • Fri: rest
  • Sat: 6 mile run
  • Sun: cross training
